The Parish Council is receiving multiple reports of a large increase in the number of motorbikes riding unlawfully on footpaths and across designated land particularly in the area between Great Burney and Beacon Tarn. Riders have also been observed riding on the highway illegally.
A great deal of damage is being done to the landscape and there are reports of walkers being intimidated. We encourage residents to report these events to the Police.
How to report non-emergency crime
Did you know that non-emergency crime, or a suspicion that an offence is being committed, can be reported directly to the Police in any of the following ways :-
- By telephone – dial 101
- By text- text information to 61016
- Online non-emergency crime reporting form
Any of the above will make sure your issue reaches the Police Service and will be assessed, actioned and recorded as appropriate.
For an ongoing crime or emergency it’s still 999 of course.
