Lowick and District Agricultural Show

Held annually on the first Saturday in September.

For over 150 years the communities along and around the Crake Valley have celebrated annually in display and competition the fruits of their labour.

Experience classes for livestock, horses, home produce and other traditional Cumbrian pursuits, also enjoy local crafts, entertainment and fun for all the family!

Virtual home produce competition

This year the Home Produce committee decided to run a ‘Virtual show’. There were ten classes, five adult and five children’s. The response was amazing and we had over 120 entries. The competition was just a bit of fun, with entries judged by selected committee members.

Classes to enter prior to show day

Cattle and Sheep

There are classes for both dairy and beef cattle with ‘On Farm’ whole herd to Farmer’s Groups and individual cattle. Calf handling classes are open to younger farmers.Both native and rare breed cattle are encouraged.

There are classes for most breeds of sheep including:

  • Blue Faced Leicester
  • Texels
  • Suffolk
  • Cheviot
  • Horned Fell
  • Herdwick
  • Rare breeds.

Home Produce

In the Horticultural tent you have the chance to show off your skills and hard work and maybe even win a prize!

From nurtured fruit and veg to beautifully baked bread, nicely knitted jumpers to a perfect snapshot, there’s a class for everyone to enter. The locals and people from beyond take the opportunity to show off their talents in this much loved annual event. There are local parish classes but also open classes so why not join in the fun?

Encourage your kids to join in the fun with exciting classes such as:

  • painting
  • baking
  • and much more!

Local Crafts

The Craft Tent has a number of stands selling local crafts and produce.

There are only limited spaces available but if you are interested in having a stand at this years show please email Diane Cook.

Trade Stands

The Show welcomes a broad range of Trade Stands and Exhibits. These typically include children’s entertainment, local produce and crafts, voluntary sector and charities.

Displays, sales and promotions are all encouraged.
A charge of £1 per foot of frontage (minimum £10) applies.
Exhibitors must comply with the Show Health and Safety Policy and provide their own insurance as the Show cannot accept any liability.
