Lowick

At Lowick Show we welcome all visitors equally. We are however honest about the limitations which the Show field holds. Our Show field has limited level areas with much of the ground being on a slope, you should also expect uneven areas across the sight. As we hope you can appreciate, this does cause limitations to how we can set up our Show field so that it works best for everyone, whilst ensuring everyone is safe at all times.

Numerous seating areas are situated around the fields to allow visitors to rest a while and spectate.

Toilet facilities are provided throughout the Show fields, including multi gender and a urinal there is also a disabled cubicle on the level area of the field.

Catering, trades and the beer tent are also on the level area of the field for accessible convenience.

We would like to draw your attention to the location of our three Emergency Assembly Points;

• The main entrance to the Show field
• The main carpark at the top of the Show field
• The horse field entrance
  These will all be clearly signposted

Should we need to evacuate the Show field in an emergency, please follow any PA announcements.

The main car park for all vehicles is situated in the field above the Show field. The entrance is clearly signposted from the main road, there are also parking stewards on site to guide you. Parking is free of charge.

Due to the layout of our Show field we only have very limited disabled parking for blue badge holders, which will be pointed out on request by a steward.

We do however have a designated ‘drop off’ area for those who are a little unsteady on their feet and would prefer not to walk from the main car park.

This is on the lower part of the field in the signposted area, there will be seating to allow people to wait while the rest of your group park the vehicle. We must emphasise that this is only to be used as a ‘drop off’ point and not to be parked in.

For health and safety reasons NO VEHICLES are permitted to park on the Show field unless already agreed in advance with the Show secretary. Anyone found to be doing this will be asked to move their vehicle to the main car park or leave the grounds.

1. Who we are

The Lowick and District Agricultural Show is run by a voluntary committee (“the Committee”, “we”, “us”). For the purposes of data protection law, the Committee is the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect personal data in these ways through the website:

• Entry forms (livestock, equestrian, and other classes): name, contact details (email/phone/address), and entry details such as animal or class information. Where an entry is for a junior class, this may include the name and age/class category of a child exhibitor, and a parent or guardian’s contact details.
• Ticket and booking sales: name, contact details, and booking/order details when you buy tickets online. Card payment details themselves are collected and processed by our ticketing/payment provider, Trybooking / SumUp— we do not see or store your full card details.
• General enquiries: anything you tell us if you contact us through a contact form or email link on the site (e.g. your name, email address, and the content of your message).
• Basic website usage data: our website host may automatically collect basic technical logs (e.g. IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and site performance purposes. We do not currently use Google Analytics or similar third-party tracking tools on this site. We do not knowingly collect any personal data beyond what is set out above.

3. How we use your data, and our lawful basis

We do not use your data for marketing emails, and we do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only where necessary to run the Show or website:

• Our ticketing/payment provider, Trybooking, to process online ticket sales and payments.
• Any entries or judging system used to manage class entries, if applicable.
• Printers or class secretaries, where entry details need to be printed for judging on the day.
• Emergency services, insurers, or the relevant local authority, if required following an accident, incident, or safeguarding concern at the Show.

We do not transfer personal data outside the UK, except where a provider above (such as a ticketing platform) itself operates or stores data outside the UK as part of its standard service — in which case that provider is responsible for ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place.

5. How long we keep your data

• Entry and ticketing data is normally kept for the current Show season and a reasonable period afterwards (e.g. to handle any dispute, refund, or insurance query), then deleted or archived in a way that limits access.
• Enquiry emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up.
• We do not keep data for longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected for.

6. Photography and filming

At the Show itself, and on this website and our social media pages, we may take and publish photographs and video for publicity purposes.

• Photography and filming may take place at the Show for use on this website, in future Show programmes, and on our social media channels.
• We use these images only for Show publicity — we do not sell, license, or pass them to any other organisation.
• If you would rather not be identifiably included in photography or footage taken at the Show, please tell a steward on the day and we will do our reasonable best to accommodate this, for example by avoiding shots that clearly identify you.
• If you see a photo already published online that you’d like taken down, contact us using the details in Section 1 and we will remove it promptly.
• We take particular care with images of children. If you have any concern about a photo involving a child, please contact us straightaway and we will deal with it as a priority.

Entrance signage at the Show also gives notice on the day that photography may be taking place; this section sets out the fuller detail.

7. Cookies

This site currently uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function — for example, cookies set by our ticketing/payment provider during a booking transaction. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies.

If this changes in future (for example, if we start using website analytics), we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent via a cookie banner before any non-essential cookies are set.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it (right of access)
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data, where there’s no good reason for us to keep it
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we’re relying on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact the Show secretary using the details in Section 1.

9. How to complain

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your personal data, please contact us first using the details in Section 1, and tell us what your concern is. We’ll aim to acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within a reasonable time, normally within 21 days.

If you’re not satisfied with our response, or you’d prefer not to raise it with us directly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the way the webpages work changes or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. This policy is reviewed by the Committee at least once a year.
