Classes needing advanced entry…
Cattle and Sheep
There are classes for both dairy and beef cattle with ‘On Farm’ whole herd to Farmer’s Groups and individual cattle. Calf handling classes are open to younger farmers. Both native and rare breed cattle are encouraged.
There are classes for most breeds of sheep including:
- Blue Faced Leicester
- Texels
- Suffolk
- Cheviot
- Horned Fell
- Herdwick
- Rare breeds
Home Produce
In the Horticultural tent you have the chance to show off your skills and hard work and maybe even win a prize!
From nurtured fruit and veg to beautifully baked bread, nicely knitted jumpers to a perfect snapshot, there’s a class for everyone to enter. The locals and people from beyond take the opportunity to show off their talents in this much loved annual event. There are local parish classes but also open classes so why not join in the fun?
