Unlawful use of off-road motorbikes
– update Jan 2021
The Parish Council is continuing to receive multiple reports of a large increase in the number of motorbikes riding unlawfully on footpaths and across designated land particularly in the area between Great Burney and Beacon Tarn and now on Lowick Common. Riders have also been observed riding on the highway illegally.
A great deal of damage is being done to the landscape and there are reports of walkers being intimidated. We still strongly encourage residents to report these events to the Police – the more reports received the more time will be devoted to curtailing this destructive activity.
